Our son safely came home from Sendai where the earthquake struck

Our son, who had been hit by the earthquake in Sendai, came back home safely yesterday after 3 days of the disaster. He was outside when the quake struck. He stayed in a building near Sendai station over the cold Friday night, and moved to a refuge, a nearby elementary school, next Saturday morning. We were really relieved and pleased to hear that he was OK calling from a publie phone, since there had been no contact via a cell phone or e-mail.

On Sunday, he and his fellow who had stayed the refuge together found a route to leave Sendai by bus. They immediately went to Yamagata by bus in the afternoon, and stayed at a hotel in Sakata, a north city of Yamagata prefecture. They came back to Tokyo by train via Niigata in Monday morning.

We are lucky to have reunion with our son safely. We greatly thank people who have encouraged and helped him to come home.
